Empty Gallery at OyG Projects

Ortega y Gasset Projects is pleased to announce an Open Call for TWO Solo Exhibitions opening in September, 2024: one in the Main gallery space at OyG and one in The Skirt, OyG's dedicated space for site-specific installations. Both opportunities will include an opening reception on Saturday, September 7, 2024, a programmed event (an artist talk or a closing event) and promotion on all OyG social media outlets. In celebration of OyG's 10 year anniversary last year, the honorarium was increased to $1000 for each artist/proposal.

OyG Co-Directors will work with the artists and make studio visits leading up to the opening of the exhibitions, if possible. The artists are required to fully participate in the exhibitions' installation and deinstallation. Visual artists of all disciplines, ages and geographic locations are encouraged to apply. The artists will be selected by a panel of OyG Co-Directors based on the quality of their work and commitment to their practice. Artists are highly encouraged to specify which space they'd like to exhibit in, the Main gallery space or The Skirt (The Skirt space is dedicated to site-specific installation work).

The OyG Co-Directors will make the final decision on which space the winning proposal will be realized.

An alternate list of candidates/runners-up will be posted on our website and considered for future programming at the gallery. Past exhibition artists that we discovered from our past Open Calls who received solo or two-person exhibitions include: KT Duffy, Cameron Granger, Katya Grokhovsky, Carl E. Hazlewood, Robert Hickerson, Patrice Helmar, Jihyun Hong, Familien Iglesias, Ezra Jude, Rachel Klinghoffer, Mary Laube, Kristen Mills, Giancarlo Montes Santangelo, Rose Nestler, Renana Neuman, Norm Paris, Ben Pederson, Padma Rajendran, Adam Liam Rose, Kat Ryals, Dalila Sanabria,Gyan Shrosbree, Winnie Sidharta, Kuldeep Singh, Alicia Smith, Rachel Stern and Kate Stone.
